Hunslet Lilla 3d print

Well I decided to treat myself to a ROBEX 3d printed model of Lilla! Have to say that I am rather impressed with her. Quick and easy to set up. I have added some weights to the front of the loco to ensure she runs level. The Minitrains chassis is back heavy which means you will need to add some ballast to the smokebox.

Now to send her off to the painter and add some detail to make her as Lilla as possible!

Bagnall update

Well just thought I would drop a quick update around the Bagnall. Added a bit of beading around the tank in order to add a little more detail. The 3d print is pretty basic however, still exceptional as you can add on various bits of detail and make numerous variants.

Avonside Ogwen 0-4-0 tank locomotive

Well I had a bit of a brainiac when building the Bagnall IST around the Minitrains chassis. I wondered if the chassis would fit under the Five79 kit of Avonside Elidir. I am happy to say that the kit fits like a glove on the kit and with very little modification. As you can imagine I am over the moon with this. Have a little bit more work to do on the kit in terms of detailing. But I have attached a couple of pics.

Skylark Loco

After reading another 009 blog I decided to embark on making a skylark class loco motive kit and use the chassis from the Minitrains F&C locomotive.

The conversion of the chassis can only be something for the patient. Or at least someone with more logic and planning than me. Well managed to complete the loco and chassis in an afternoon and is now presently drying and awaiting detail. It would be great if there was a 3d print for this loco. Perhaps I will have a go.

2A Rail - Bagnall 0-4-0

I already have a number of ready to run locomotives curtesy of Minitrains. These were meant to act as a bit of a bridging gap (aside from the Brigade Loco) for both the Heljan and Bachmann ready to run locomotives. Having read a few other posts I looked into 3d printing and discovered the 2A Rail Bagnall wing tank loco and decided to purchase it and convert my Krauss loco into a more English outline train.

The Bagnall is pretty much configured to accept the Krauss chassis with very little work which is fantastic. I added some additional pipe work to the loco and await the Markits whistle and Narrow Planet works plates.  Once this is complete I will then get the loco painted and weathered!

I think it will be a great addition to my layout along with the copious amounts Peco ready to run rolling stock.

Why blog?

After a number of toe dipping year I have finally decided to start on my 009 adventure. I have decided to document my adventure which will hopefully provide people with ideas and hopefully help me with mine.

Hope you enjoy.
